My compression releases are working intermittently. What would be the down side of rewiring them directly to the green solenoid wire? Hope this isn't a sign the EHC is getting ready to take a shit...

can't answer your question about the green wire, but just for shits and giggles, i manually depress the releases every time i crank just to save the battery from over stressing. original battery is now 3 years old.

well S&S does recomend wiring the comp release to the starter solenoid.. but bdm has the ehc curcuit loaded to the max... so thay couldnt hook em up there.. so thay wire em to a 1 second curciut on the ehc.. it may work for a while,, but will probbly kill your ehc..

Just one more fine reason to trash the EHC. Bet you wouldn't have those issues with a wire plus. Or would you?

Are you sure the compression releases themselves aren't the problem? May want to take them out to make sure they're not all junked up, move freely, and don't have electrical issues before you rewire them...

The CR's are wired to the EHC at seperate outputs (GREEN) B29 & B45 and seperate grounds (BLACK) B11 & B12. Can't tell which is the front or rear CR to EHC connection pins. Check those connections and continuity through the wires, end to end.

More than likely the CR's are carboned up and sticking.
