Somehow my speedo lens developed a small crack in it and it's getting bigger.
I tried polishing it ... wasted $20 ... Talked to an authorized BD repair guy and he said that BD doesn't just sell just the lens. I ususlly don't ride in the rain but one day I can see it leaking into the electronics and poof  He suggusted the Dakota Digital but .... I might just put some super glue on it ... $1.99 vs $254.95+ :spank:

Not sure if you can get the bezel ring off easily if it's like other gauges which are crimped over the rear case.

I've seen some speedo faces that guys have used on this forum. The chrome bezel ring is the worst of it.

Once you get the chrome bezel crimp worked out far enough starting at the reset button side I would use the back side of a teaspoon to ease the crimp outward going around the bezel. This may help reduce or elliminate all the little screwdriver pry notches in the bezel ring.

But if it can be removed without damage you could make or have made a new lens.

Just a thought.......

DO NOT USE ANY SUPER GLUE!!:spank: We tried that on my buddies bike and it fog up the hole lens on the inside and you can't clean it. Raywood, a member here actually took his apart and put a picture on the face, do a search. My 05 cracked and I finally replace with a Dakota Digital.

A tear-down just to replace the lens would be a PITA and could make more problems -- I've been in there twice (not easy). I'd ride it till she failed then replace with the Dakota unit.

Try putting a piece of clear bra material over the glass for a short term fix. All you need to do is spray the solution on the clear bra material and place it on top of the glass. Once it sticks it will be water proof.

You can buy a new one from Shovelheadkicker on E-bay for about $120.00. I have a new one I bought as a spare and still have since being that I bought Dakota Digital. First $90.00 shipped takes it :D

My old one has a cracked case on it. I sealed it with Hot glue. That one is free (You pay shiping) if I can find it in my garage. It has about 5000 + miles on it worked good no fog. :D
