NO POWER TO BIKE!

MAKE SURE ALL THE WIRE CRIMPS ARE CRIMPED TIGHT FOR THE WIRES AT THE BATTERY TERMINALS..Pull on them.

Battery ..... (Absobed glass mat) DON'T USE ANYTHING ELSE IN THESE BIKES!!! Buy and HD/DEKA battery 270+ CCA rated. The battery termials are the same design so they fit well as a replacement and you can get them locally.

You also need a battery charger designed for AGM battery technology.

STOP WITH THE BAD EHC CRAP ALREADY!... Before one even troubleshoots anything for god sake.

Sounds like a battery issue to start with. You must have 12.6v to 12.8 volts on the battery after it has been taken off the charger a few hours to be GOOD condition to start bike. Disconnect the battery let sit for 10 min, then reconnect and try again.

The problem with these TENDER Jr. things is that they can crap out the battery in some cases. My Tender Jr.s never get out of charge mode on my bike with a BRAND NEW battery installed. Went to a different charger.

HOW you say?

Well due to the fact that a 07 Mastif has several computer modules on it EHC and IGN, in some cases the current draw is just enough to trick the Tender from going into FLOAT maintenance MODE thus keeping a HIGH voltage charge to the battery 14.4+ and damaging the battery.

What to do then? Disconnect the battery for long term storage or get a better charger.

I can't use either of my two Tender Jrs. on my EFI 07 Bulldog if the battery is still connected because of this. So I use them elsewhere.

Thanks good info.

I leave my scoot on the tender, I have a brand new battery as well, but when it is like really, really cold it doesn't take a lot to suck all the life out of those batterys.

Don't, Don't , Don't try jumping it!!!

and i left out one little point that reading your statement makes me want to share. i tried to start the bike with the tender on. maybe i shouldnt have done that.:bang:
So you tried starting the thing with the tender still hooked up and plugged in? Did the bike start? I would think it would because you were supplying power to the battery...

I always started my bike with the tender on and never had an issue. If the battery is bad even the voltage from the tender will not help as it requires the CCA's !
