I posted something similar to this about 1 month ago and took the advice of checking the alignment of the final drive belt (it was right on) and the squealing sound never went away. Then I took the advice of applying the DuPont spay to the final drive belt. The sound went away for about 85 miles and now it is back.
I just bought the bike from a guy who let it sit for a “LONG” time. I am getting ready to find a mechanic to change the rear bearing, and new rear tire and rotor (have them in hand). Rotor has a groove cut into it from where the guy must have gone metal to metal.
Bike is a 2004 Chopper with 4,600 miles. Any ideas of what it could be? Now I am just throwing things out there, is it possible that the final drive belt is somehow or way warped? The guy did have the belt tight has hell when I bought it from him and he must have had the sound when he owned the bike because there was all kinds of crap on the belt when I brought it home and looked it over.
Any suggestions on what it could be and if anyone knows a good shop down in Ft. Lauderdale are please let me know.
