hi i have a chopper bdl primary.
when i pull off the bike has a banging feel to it and when you are riding at faster speeds giving it some. the bike feels like its vibrating.
goes into gear fine and making funny noise when moving. engine runs fine.
do you think my clutch is knackered.
the allen bolt was screwed in all the way in the centre of the clutch.
i have screwed it out a bit and it seems i bit better.
if you ride it very smooth its ok
if you pull off fast you get the banging
and the vibration come in later
belt is ok pulleys are ok

Sounds like you need to pull of the primary cover and tighten the clutch nut, but what do I know, I'm just a seat guy.:D

Sounds like your Transmission might need to be looked at. What year is your bike? The bolt on your countershaft might have lossened up, allowing the gears to walk to one side. This causes the gears to want to jump in and out.
Gives you an almost jerking feeling and might even feel like a clutch slip but is actually jumping in and out of gear. Get it looked at soon. You don't want that thing locking up on you at 65mph. Sorry, don't mean to freak you out, but better to be safe than sorry.
Let us know what you find.

when riding the bars are shaking at speed. first i thought i had a flat tyre.
bike was fine until i pulled up at some lights and they changed just before i stopped so i pulled away and it felt like i had run over a stone on the road then after that the bike started shaking when at faster speeds ?

What's your drive belt tension set at? If it's way to loose it can cause vibration...but it sounds like you have something extreme going on.

Looks like that steel has gotten hot. Some glazzing on your fiber disks...Does it feel like it's slipping? Your sure that your clutch hub nut is tight?

cant move the clutch nut with a socket set?
as i said if you pull off slow its ok.
but if you pull off quicker you get the banging feeling
clutch doesnt seem to spin.
but some times it does make a odd noises on pull off.

I just looked over at your bike model...This is not a bigdog? If not, what type of transmission is in this?
