I am certain it is coming from the right side where the cover of the drive belt mounts to the tranny. Its not red oil from tranny its black. Sprays all over the right side of bike from the belt cover back. I guess this means seal is bad on the tranny. I just wondering why the color is black and not red oil? I did a search and didn't find my exact answer or problem. Any advise would be great.

Sometime oil leaking through a seal which comes through a high load bearing such as a main shaft bearing will appear black especially if the bearing is failing. Replace the seal and be sure to check the bearing.

Thanks thats what I thought.Seal- any special tools to get to the seal. I know there is a locking bolt for the belt drive. How easy is it to replace that seal. Also if this helps I hear a fluttering on the drive belt side (engine is off) when I roll the bike not sure if its the belt but not heard that before. Thought this might help.

UPDATE: I got home today and removed the pipes and then the cover for the belt pully and then the belt and guess what I found. The pully has play in it. Crap its the start of the season:bang::angry:

UPDATE: Bigdogtech1 (andrew) had done it again. My pulley had play in it and tore the quad seal. I replaced the pulley and andrew rebuilt the tranny. While he was in there I upgraded to the hardened main shaft from Baker. It took me two evenings to put the dog back together. Andrew had my tranny back to me in a few days. If you are needing tranny rebuild again I will say get with him. Went for a great ride today and all is good. Thanks bigdogtech1!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
