07 K9 front brake issue

I just bought this 07 K9 and the front brake seemed spongy and din't grab well..now the lever is pulling all the way to the grip and it's leaking fluid at the caliper. I've read there were issues with 07 brakes on the forum...what route should I take to fix it and fix it right? thanks for the help!

never have had a problem with mine (a little under 10K). previous owner may have put something other than DOT 5 brake fluid in the reservoir. extreme would be may have to change out the line and replace all the o-rings in the front system. anything other than DOT 5 i think will dissolve the rubber.

maybe somebody with more experience will chime in.

pick up new seals for the caliper. How's the master cylinder look?

I just fixed that on mine 05 ridgeback got seal kit for the front caliper Part # 0053-3903 preformance machine #

The master cylinder looks ok...I'm going to order the seal kit and put new fluid in and see how it goes..thanks!

agree seal kit is likely way to go....had prob with my front caliper leaking.

Don't forget to replace the Crush Washers (10MM) you can get them from HD dealer. :2thumbs:

Mine doesn't leak but it goes spongy. Have to bleed it twice a year.
