Carb help

dont know if this is normal, but when I take off the air filter i notice that there is a little bit of oil like substance around the filter....Is this normal? I am currantly adjusting the push rods and thought i'd ask..

Run the hose (the on with the check valve) coming from the rear head all the way to the bottom of the bike instead of to the air cleaner. Most on here do that when they replace the stock air cleaner. That should take care of it. So a search on here and get some ideas as to how it is done and how it looks when completed.

There's a grease you put on aftermarket filters to get a good seal so dirt want get into carb.
I think this is what your talking about

the oil is condensed oil vapor from the breather line from the rear cylinder head. A bit of residue is normal as long as the air filter isn't soaked (like mine was). If you are getting lots of oil, don't run it to the bottom of the engine with a rerouted line. It will just coat your back tire and that is bad. I cured mine with a reed type breather valve in the cam chest.
