Front left turn signal flickering

Anyone know what would cause my turn signal to flicker on and off ? It's not the switch as the rear does not flicker. Front and rear blink ok when activated , but front left continues to flicker.

Pull your tank and check for grounded wire along the backbone. Common problem and so you need to go over the whole wiring system.

I see you have the split tanks. You can just remove the center cover and see if you have any worn/grounded wires. Also check the wiring loom under your seat. Be carefull putting the cover back on though cause if you over tighten the bolt it will break through the fiberglass as I've experienced with my 03!!
I've had several grounds.
Get them sealed up like this and you won't have any problems for a good time.

Yea , I was going to start with the seat and dash. Might be related to the re-installation of my alarm system i did recently.

If you have the manual you can look up the color of wire and trace it a lot easier.
Someone on here may be able to tell us what color wire the front turn signal is. :D

Man! This same thing happened to me last summer. Sure enough, it was a ground wire to the right front turn signal. I soldered in a new piece that replaced the wire where the insulation had worn through, and everything back to normal.

Rabbid1 my manual is showing on your 03 Mastiff both turn signals and headlight are ground under the dash on an aluminum ground block,and both signals have a red and black wire..seems to me that only one is flicking it may be in the turn signal connector..Dave.

Thanks to all , Still plugging away at it. Gotta get it fixed , 50 deg temps coming to eastern Penna. next week.:flag:

my left rear blinker did the same thing and it was the tire rubbed the wires raw I had to rewire the left side there is no clearance what a poor design

Problem Resolved

Could'nt find the problem today , so i fired it up and went for a ride. Got about a mile from home when it started firing on one cylinder , Pulled over to find the front plug wire came out of the coil. Turned out the 90 deg brass connector inside the rubber boot had broken in half. Made a temp repair to get it home , at which time i noticed the turn signal was no longer flickering. The flickering was evidently caused by arcing of the spark accross the broken connector. Bike is running awhole lot better now with new plug wires which is a plus....:up:

Rabbid, when you figure it out let me know. I have the same problem, I have taken my tanks off and trace to two front wires to the grounding block. The ground is good. The only place where the wire goes is into the EHC. Which at this point I'm thinking is bad. There is no where else that controls that left front turn signal. I've been scratching my head for months now. I don't want to go buy a EHC for 250 just to test it.

Rainman , See my post #12 and you will see what my problem was. I repaired the broken spark plug wire connector going into the back of the coil and the problem went away.
My conclussion is that the spark jumping across the broken connection caused RFI interference with the EHC , same as it would with a radio or any other electronic device.

Gotta love modern electronics....:angry:
Give me a magnetto for spark and a generator for lights , and all will be OK !

Thanks I'll check that this weekend. I think my problem might be a little more serious since my wires are new.

My point if this was true then how many ignition moduals do you see less than 1inch away from EHC? I always wonder about this seems like this would be a problem for bigdog mounting it so close. As you say RFI interference! I dont think you found your problem on what really happened. 05chop

when I changed my sparkplug wires to sumax & ultima hp my blinkers went crazy I had to go back to accel 8.8 wires
