Went to take the bike out and the bike wont go into 1st or 2nd gear. Does anyone know what would cause this?

Need a little more info.

Did it just happened? When did you discover it? (Riding or just starting out)

Have you inspected the clutch or tranny?

Throw us a bone and feed us some details

Sat. I was riding back from a ride and I started feeling it get hard to put back in the lower gears. I took it out last night and it was in neutral but once I got to the conrer it wouldn't go down in first. It just came out of service about a month ago.

I had similiar issues when I first purchased my bike. Back when BDM was still in business :D there was a service bulletin for the heim joints for my 08 Pit not sure if it applied to all models. But they were replaced under the now invalid warranty :job:

Like mentioned check'em out.

What did they do to "Service" your Dog? They might have serviced it but not right

Does your shift lever stick in the down position? This would be a very good indicator that it's the heim joints that others have stated. Might also want to lube your foot control while at it. Mine has done this before...

Heim Joints, Shift Paw adjustment, Clutch adjustment or even something wrong inside the transmission...all can cause the problems your having.

well i lubed the heim joints and tried to move the shifter lever and was going into the higher gears but still wouldnt go into 2nd or 1st. I just got the clutch assembly replaced just last year because of the nut backing out.

I had the 5000 miles service done in Mar or apr.

At this point I would replace the heim joints. Toodie mentioned that there was a recall on the heim joints for some 2008 Dogs. The recall may or may not have been done on you Dog.

Take the shift linkage off try and shift from the Trans shift lever keep an eye out for the Neutral light. Hope it's not you clutch again. Good luck
