Stripped out ground bolt

My dad has an '06 K9. The inner primary cover is stripped out where the bolt holds on a ground wire from the battery, goes through the starter and into the primary. What's the best way to fix this? Could we take off the outer primary cover, drill through the bolt hole and jb weld a bolt to the inside of the primary so it lined up with the starter and put a nut on the outside? What are your suggestions?
Thanks in advance guys.

A ground needs to make a good solid contact so I'd lean towards oversizing the bolt/hole if possible...

And what ever you decide to do, in my worthless opinion is you need to pull the inner primary to do the job right. Now might be the time for a good excuse to get a belt drive?

I would move the ground to a new location. New solid bolt. It is a waste of time to fix it for just a ground.
You have so many other places to ground it at. I moved mine when I lowered my battery box down for clearance.

Heli-coil is the beat bet. Jake is right on moving it to a new location as long as the starter is still tight. Don't know what part of OK your in but if your close to Tulsa-Owasso area you can bring it over and will get you fixed up. Just shoot me a pm
