Sent an email to Energy one, they replied that they do not make a clutch for Big Dogs.
WTF
Maybe it was the cleaning woman who replied to my enquiry?
Give Kent at Energy One and a call and he will be very helpful. Let him know what you are working with. He may need you to pull the clutch to verify things but he is the one to help you. Energy One supplies the frictions and steels for just about every clutch supplier out there. They were the supplier when BDM was still around.

Hit me up if you need any more help.

Is this SVEN guy for real? What the fuck!:loony::loony::loony:
I don't understand why try getting from another supplier if they are not sure what you have? Baker has the clutch pack in stock and less than $200.

Thanks Mick, appriciate it.
Andrew is chasing it down now, with prices and delivery.
Should be resolved soon i hope. As i stated before i emailed Energy via their web site as they don't list a BD clutch, you have to call them..............i'm in Australia, i aint calling the US in the middle of the night, email thats how i roll, If they can't get a working system they don't get my business, that simple, also i would rather work with vendors on here, that way you have support and a geunine love of BDM's. (not sure if EO is a supporting member if so appoligies)
If all else fails i have EO to fall back on.............thanks again.

I'll send you a message at yor email in regards to this along with posting on here so others can see....
If all looks to be good in regards to the clutch pack, I would adjust it while you have your primary cover off (if you do still that is). That way, you can make sure the clutch is actuating the way it should be. What's you dome height by the way?
Also, did you make sure the clutch hub nut was tight? It's left hand thread. There was a time when BDM was not using enough Red loctite on them and they were coming loose.

Clutch adjustment....
Instead of doing your adjustment like it tells you to in the manual, do it this way....
First, make sure your cable is loosened all the way up at the adjuster and the cable is up inside the perch like it should be at the lever.
Then, make sure that the ball and ramp assembly is seated correctly. The part that is sticking out with the internal threads, should be sticking out a good 1/16"-1/8" beyond the outer part of the ramp assembly. This make sense?
If its flush or pushed in beyond the ramp, you need to pull it out so it's not.
Once you know the ball and ramp is seated correctly you can then turn your pushrod in till it's seated lightly and just a hair more. Then back it out a turn or so, and back in again to a light seat and keep it there. DO NOT back it out a 1/4 turn yet.
Go to your cable adjustment and tighten the cable up till you have no play left at your clutch lever. Make sure you have no play at lever by pulling out on the cable up near the lever and at the same time try moving the lever till you have zero play b tightening the cable adjustment.
Once you have zero play at lever, go back down to your pushrod and back it out a 1/4 turn and lock down the lock nut.
Now go back up to your clutch lever and verify you have 1/16"-1/8" of freeplay at the lever. You want it closer to an 1/8" so you may have to loosen the cable adjustment up a half turn or so if needed.
Now you can verify everything is working the way it should and then put your primary cover back on and fill it with a qt of oil.
Start the bike up and test ride it.

I had been using ATF but changed it to HD tranny and primary oil, whatever grade that is.
Thinking of going back to the ATF as i did not have too many issues with that wet stuff.

It gets plenty hot here, we have 2 days of winter, gets to around 70 def F min.
Summer is a different matter, months of 100 + days and 80 + at night, add humidity of about 100% constant for 4-6months, and rain...............if only it would bloody rain.

It's bloody raining now.
2500 klm away they have fires.
My dome spring height is 0.415" so within parameters. watched the clutch move after i adjusted the clutch, can't see an issue till i put her back together.

All Hale Andrew

Talk about a country of contrasts.
We have bush fires devistating the southern states and floods in the the north, i wished for rain last week but we have had enough now, 4 foot in 4 days.
Anyway, a very big THANK YOU TO ANDREW:cheers::2thumbs:
After putting my clutch cover on and putting HD Primary oil into the void i fired her into life grabed my skid lid jumped on and waited for the bang as i engaged first.
Nothing, it just eased in without a sound, got to the stop sign at the end of my street and was able to find neutral while stationary for the first time since owning the Dog.
Mate i own you a beer or six, the adjustment methord works a treat.

Thank you, and to all those that chimed in.

:confused:SVEN:confused:
LOOK, DAMIT!

I gave excellent (OEM: Energy One http://www.energyoneclutches.com/ ) clutch parts source information to JeffM so he can get a proper clutch pack already preset to the stack height designed for his Bigdog bike.

My post: http://www.bigdogbiker.com/forums/528809-post4.html

It PISSES me off to no end that you "SVEN" come back and give him some damn link to a damn Harley parts shop that will likely sell him the wrong shit.

STOP spewing your GENERIC motorcycle bullshit "I speak the generic" on this forum and giving misinformation to Bigdog owners if you have NEVER OWNED, REPAIRED one or probably never even SAT on one!

 :spank:
Love it!!! Although other members have spoken highly of Sven and his knowledge. I just got an unpleasant feeling (lack of a better term) from his posts. Nothing against him personally but I blocked his posts not long after I joined.
