EHC replacement

im trying to just wire my bike like a chopper without any ehc or anything..bike shop here says they will do it for 500 bucks..i know wiring but dont know that much about bike to know what all i have to have wired to make it run..can anyone help me with this? i have an 05 pittbull, what all has to have power in order for it to run..i tried putting power to just the coils and it doesnt start..can somebody give me some guidance here???

Do a intro. first! Then post your question. If it's a 2005 you can not use the switches over again without a computer. 5 vdc only.

i have done a intro now..im just trying to get it to start right now..can i do this by just putting power to the ignition? ive been trying but it is not starting.. just turns over..i thought if i just put power to ignition that it would start..am i doing something wring?

Rick that shop is talking out their ass. Can't rewire an 05 for $500. You couldn't even do it yourself at that price

You need new handlebars, new levers, mastercylinder and switches. You still need a brain to operate brake and signals. Bare minimum unit for that is around $300-400. With bars and switches your looking at $1000 just in parts.

Run away from that shop ...far away

They have no issue with 12V as long as a relay is used.

The Thunder heart MHC (Module used in RIP and ESC) uses 12V .

Not saying it's ideal, but better than replacing hand controls and bars IMHO.

That was new to me! Always thought BD controls and wires were designed just for 5 V.

Just an update:

I just finished my 2 EHC tester what will drive real loads from the box what is more like real life compare to the original BD tester. However my original BD tester starts to have the first issues with the connector cables. So, it was just in time:

However, it looks a bit raw and confused compare to the original, but it will not leave my workshop. The tester can handle 2004 and 2005 - 8 EHC. The resistors at he right side will produce 21 Ampere with a 13,8 Volt supply what will simulate the starter solenoid and the compression reliefs. Let´s see how it works :)

Looks Like a cool toy for you!

Be cool to see how long it takes the start cycle to fry the ehc :)
