The only thing I would add to those instructions is that sometimes the 1/4" back off might be too much if your bike wants to creep when the clutch is pulled in, and if it does, you might want to lessen the 1/4" to 1/8" or 1/16"

That looks like just a little more than normal, keep us posted......Just got off the phone with Ker, bout to take my cover off because I have no play on my chain when applying my clutch and pulling the plug out revealed some metal shrapnel..View attachment 41426
Play in the gear? What ya mean?Took cover off.. everything looks good.. no visual chipping away of gears or n e thing like that.. there is however about a little under a quarter inch of play in the gear with the clutch adjustment out
Is that transmission oil leaking?So.. my nut as Eric was stating was loose, I'm gunna get with Donna and get the new updated hardened nut and washer update.. the adjustment with the rod being flush with the jam nut is what got me as to why I posted this, glad I didn't ride with it like this.. could a been a bad outcome when that nut finally came off.. a personal thanks to all of u who chimed and and an extra thanks to Ker for spending the time with me on the phone and getting to know him a bit better!!View attachment 41430

Yeah, I was kinda thinkin about that.. will do.. good lookin out EricYep been there with fingers for tight...kinda scary. That's why I said red loctite and 150 lbs earlier. If I buy another Big Dog I won't ride it until I take it off and retorque that nut specifically.
I was referring to what ever is that redish liquid around the nut.
Behind that clutch basket is a transmission seal while you got it apart already might want to take a peak at it. And you can check if any play in the transmission shaft.
