You don't mean Boxer?I think all the Mastif model bikes should be rubber mounted. It was actually a selling point back in the day. They were basically FXR style bikes with isolated motor and transmission mounts.
Who did the alignment of the engine and tranny? Are the shims as they were from Factory? Why the engine has been out? Internal balance after what ever has been done to the engine... just a few options. The engine has bn out a cpl times and when putting it back I thought it seemed like it should have some rubber on the mounts somewhere or it would create alot of vibrations n it does. Didnt kno if they were left off by the previous mechanic for some reason or just didnt have any
The way I am heading is, if the engine vibrates it self to pieces it may be some internal problem... But that is way beyond my pay grade. Sure vibration is pretty subjective, solid mounted V2 will vibrate. You would need to find an other Big Dog owner and let him ride your bike to see what he thinks.I had a pinion shaft break. So I had to get new case and pistons. Had it trued in to .001 and then had a guy re-install it. Motor is strong and ive put bout 1700 mls on it since but it does have some solid vibrations. But before pinion snapped it was goin through head gaskets and backing bolts out every where. The guy I bought it from had everything redone before i got it lol not. I put bout 500 mls on it before a complete overhaul n in those 500 mls replaced head gasket twice n odd stuff. Its bn solid since having it all done besides the vibrations of course but i am used to it and havnt had bolts falling out like before.
