Wiring questions

I've searched the forum, but am still not sure. I'm having etc problems and am thinking about going the old school way using a 3 position ignition switch, feeding headlight and taillights off the accessory. Can I use the stock brake light switches? Will my compression reliefs work if I wire them to the starter solenoid? I'm not really worried about keeping the hand controls functional, but I have a wp kit ordered but am not sure how long it is going to take to receive it. I'm also replacing the ignition module with an Ultima kit.

You have a WP kit ordered! How did you manage to do that? No-one has been able to contact them for spares and I heard they are out of business! If possible do not go WP route. Or maybe it is an other wp than Wires Plus you are talking.

Yesir, going to try and get it ordered today. I just hope I can get a refund from wires plus! Thanks for all the replies!
Michael, I have been through hell with my stock EHC, tried everything, even bypassed it for a while, finally got smart and listened to my buddy Ker and went for the ESC, by far the best mod I have done to my bike! I have "NEVER" used a batt tender since the install over 6,000 worry free miles ago! Changed my bike from a not too sure if I am gonna make it bike, to a reliable bike that I can count on every ride! Glad to see you are gonna go for it, like I said before, you will "NOT" be dissapointed!

Doc sells the ESC with excellent support if you need it and instructions for the install. And yes with DOC's you will keep the OEM hand controls.:old2:

Yes, but for another $75.00 you should add the charging system warning light, it uses your oil warning light to tell you if your system has a fault in it, well worth the money.
OK. Is there anything else you think I should get? I just want to be sure I get exactly what I need so I can get her back going.

There is a 3rd much better and easier solution and that is axels ehc that installs in minutes works flawlessly and has the longest best warrnty 2 years
:disappointed: first of all, you don't even know how it will hold up over time, you don't barely put any miles on your bikes, on the other hand, me, Douggy and Ker have logged on some miles and can say trough experience that it is reliable.
