The hly 5000x Dakota digital only had a 5 wire harness and a 3 wire harness but when I opened it up the speed side of the harness was missing my question is I can get one $15 from Dakota digital will big dogs speed sensor work with there cause then I’ll have 11 on Dakota and 11 from old wiring to connect

You should have two wires that plug into the conmetions inside the speedo. I am sure Dakota will sell you one. Big dogs speed sensor should work with the Dakota digital.
Did you also get a oil pressure sensor with the speedo? There was one with mine but I stuck with the stock for now. I think one day I am going to change it

I thought yours was Harley wired?
You are going to have to match the schematics from Dakota and big dog. Your options could be to remove the jst connectors and solder and shrink tube the wires or remove the jst connectors and try a different connector. Let me look at the schematics I am only spit balling it

It is but my old speedo plug right in so I think they left some of the wiring

I think your best option to to change the Dakota digital speed sensor wires (blk,rd,grn) over to a jst connection. It’s pretty easy to do. Same with the 8 other wires(purple, orange etc.)

I guess my problem is I don’t have the speed sensor wire coming out the Dakota

Your spot on with that. It was a really odd setup inside the speedo. Really a crappy design imo . They could have made one connection imo but I made it work

I had to do some grinding to get mount to fit I think I got it pretty good
I used my carpentry skills to scribe it in

Looks good! I saw they make a mount for handlebars with risers.

Sometimes you gotta think outside the box to make things work. Nice work on making it fit.

Really want to have mine mounted under the bars without adding risers to the bars. I may make my own mount someday. Right now my focus is on building the ridgeback
