Kinda at a loss. Thought it might be electrical, so I removed the side covers disconnected all the connections and cleaned them. I put dielectric grease on all the connections. Saw no frade wires. Checked the batter, 13 volts. Everything is tight. I have gas in the tank and the petcock is on. Fire up the bike and it starts right up. Nothing out of the ordinary on the speedo. All lights work as designed. As soon as I stand the bike up it dies. Put the bike on the kickstand and restart. Bike fires up but backfires through the exhaust. Stand the bike back up and it dies. No abnormal indications on the speedo. Put the bike in the stand and try to restart. Nothing, not wven a click. Waited about 15 min and try to restart and nothing. During this time all he lights worked, however the headlight would not shift for low to high. Still no start. Another 15 min later, attempted to restart. I put the voltmeter on the battery and the bike fires up. (Still on the kickstand.). Voltage is good, holding at ~13 volts. I took a few pix of everything while the bike was running. When I started the bike back up it did backfire through he exhaust again. Stood the bike back up and it died again. Tried to restart and fail. All the pins on the EHC look good and straight. Not sure what to look at next. Any thoughts or ideas? Thanx in advance! Also there is a pic attached of a small black box, can someone tell me what this is/does?

Thank you. Nice to have some fresh eyes on the bike. I didn't even notice that wire. I will check it out tomorrow. I sure hope that is the issue.

Ok. So I took the black box off the bike and opened it up. There is a cercuit board inside. Doesn’t look like a tip over sensor. Started the bike up on the kickstand and it fired up. As soon as I stood the bike up it died and would not restart. When I first went out to the bike this morning, and turned the key on, I heard a soft click and the bike started. After it died, I turned the key off and waited about 30 sec and then turned the key back to on and no click and bike is still dead. I’m lost.

Just for shits n giggles, dont start it on the stand. Saddle up and then see if it will start in an upright position. Unless you have a bare wire that dangles and shorts when you move the bike, I cant think of much else that would cause that....?

I will give it a start when I get back to the house. As far as I can tell there is no alarm. I will have to trace those wires back to whatever they lead too. Right now the black box is removed. I’ll keep y’all posted. Thanx

I assumed when you remove the black box you just unplugged it.
Did you remove these wires as well?IMG_2278.PNG
If we make another assumption and say the red and black wire is positive and negative, where do the blue and white wire go?
Another line of thought, do you move the handlebars while standing the bike up?

Yes, I only unplugged it. Not sure what all the wires go and yes I did move the handle bars when I stood the bike up.

Something is moving a wire being pulled when you straighten up the handlebars or there is a sensor wired into the ignition.
If you start the bike and straighten the handlebars while still on the stand does the bike die? If so I'd be looking at wires going up into the handlebars, right side mainly and or headlight wiring.

X2 I agree with Rick
could be another wire from the run switch that looks like the red and black ones with the insulation bad and shorting to ground. Same thing as pushing the button. Did you tape up the red and black wires where you see copper?

Ok. Taped up the fraid wires and they are to the wires leading under the tank. I left the bike on the stand and attempted to start. Successful. I stood the bike up and left the bars turned all the way left and it tried to start. As I moved the bars it would cut out. Even on the know stand as I move the bike to the upright position the bike will die out. So I think you fellas are right. I will have to remove the tank and inspect all the wires. I think with the bike stood up and the bars turned fully left there is enough vibration to cause a wire to short. This will also allow m to trace down the wires from the black box as well. Looks like at least another week without riding. Thank you all for help, advice and recommendations. I will let y'all know what turns up.

Rick made me think of this if no tip over was in the black box say:
1. Start bike on side stand.
2. Do not lift the bike up when running.
3. Turn the bars instead so the bike cuts out on the side stand.
4. See where there is a connect-disconnect at the neck's wire harness routing?
5. So when the bars turn to center, the unconnect happens.
6. Then twofold if say you pass first on the bar centering on the side stand, and rather move the big main harness up-down-side-to side, so when the bike cuts out, it's somewhere at the harness to neck cutting out.
7. And say we know it's hot to the kill switch side, not some high beam wiring that is about to cut the spark on that side of the handlebar, right?

Update. I know it have been some time. I just got the bike all back together. So the little black box was part of the LED lights. Those have been removed due to breaking some of the connections putting the tank back on. I took the tank off and checked the harness. I looked at all the wires and could not find anything frayed. I also check the headlight and those wires were good as well. I put dielectric grease on all the connections. The bike starts up and I can stand it up and turn the bars to the right. The bike will stay running on the stand wether the bars ar turned or not. After I stand the bike up it dies/stops. When the bike dies, and I put it back on the stand, sometimes I can hear a "click" sound. Not sure what to check next. not sure of anyone I can take it to down here in GA. Any thoughts or suggestions are greatly appreciated.

Key on, engine off. Seat off so you have this box that clicks exposed so you can feel it click. So you are going to do everything but start it. Lift it up, swing the bars, see if you can hear a click as you statically do this, then if so, let the bike rest on the stand again, turn the key off and listen/feel for the click. It might help you narrow it down, should be those wires out of the click box or noise box to point the way.
