When I went to look at thge bike I took my bike builder friend who is also a PA state inspection guy. He said back tire is fine!
He is a retired PA State Trooper, don't think he will jeopardize his inspection license!
Interesting response to BDM7250.... Perhaps the "Inspector" just looked at the tread??? Google and you'll find most say replace at 5 - 6 years regardless of tread depth.... a couple of examples.....

Thanks Mark, I for one will not ever ride on a 12+ year old tire.. :chopper:
eplaced in 2016, guess I should be good for another year or two...fingers crossed! Great read on the tires, thanks for sharing. Slowly getting this K9 into shape!
