Hi, I’m wanting to swap my stock 04 LSD Bigdog Chopper transmission out for tho Ultima transmission. Will the ultima bolt mounting bolts line up with the original mounting holes. And anything else I need to be aware of. Thanks for any info

Yes tranny is all good, I am putting the Ultima 3.35 open belt setup on her but the Ultima clutch hub will not work on the stock Bigdog tranny shaft

As far as i know it should bolt up....buddy of mine is a ultima dealer and he said it will... he swears by ultima....i will say this he has exploded 6 bakers on one of his bikes ,which has twin turbos, and went with ultima and hasnt had any trouble with it and thats what made him decide to become a ultima dealer....

Thanks for the info, I purchased the Ultima 3.35 open belt primary and the clutch hub will not slide all the way on to the stock BDM Baker shaft the hub bottoms out at 1/4” from hitting home. Was told to just machine the hub out but don’t want to take the chance of something going wrong down the road

How many miles is on the baker?....all im saying is it might be worth just machining the hub for now...if something did go wrong later and u decided on a ultima then u could get a new hub

I did take it to a local machine shop and they didn’t want to even try, saying the hub is to hard of material and didn’t want to risk messing it up

Yours is going to be a little different spacing wise than Shannons, his was 1.5" yours being an 04 rigid you got a 1-7/16 offset which was one of the rare offsets at the time. Some other builders had them as well, but last I checked anyone that used to make a belt drive for that offset is not anymore. Just mentioning if you haven't made it that far yet
