BDM was assembling their own motors in-house in '05 and '06. They used TP rocker boxes instead of S&S boxes. Why? I don't know. Some say the TP's don't produce as much engine noise. Engine noise was also a part of the new epa laws that came down in the mid-2000's. There is a geometry problem when using TP's on an s&s engine that has the potential for premature valve guide wear. Some have had problems. Others have not. There are many threads on the subject. Just do a search.

Very interesting bc the 06 is making a rattling noise. I am hoping the rattle is coming from the heat shields...

To me all BIG DOG MOTORCYCLES are badass looking and the most solid bikes on the market! I've tried many different custom bikes over the years and finally chose Big Dogs to keep as they are built better and stronger and more badass looking then all the rest. Titan, Bourget, Carefree Custom, Big Bear and Harley's.

You got my vote on this! My guess is everyone on this forum would agree :)

Your bikes have some badass paint jobs and look like new. How many miles on the 06 K9?

I bought my 06 K9 used as is with about 5k additional accessories. It had 3800 miles on it.

The Big Bear was a test ride and I really didn't like the color so I didn't buy it. And it just didn't seem as solid as a big dog.

Unfortunately wrecked the K9 in October 2019. Had 33,485 miles on it. Bought the BBC Sled with 1,759 miles on it and now have 11,609, it's a 2008.

What troubles have you had with your BB sled I was going to order one and put it together but the wait was so long so I just bought a Harley back then. I haven’t seen one in central Texas and have only seen one other big dog I think it was Lorenzo’s at a car show but he didn’t stick around.
