07 Big Dog K9 Starting Issue

Energy One

I've owned this cycle for 5 years and this is the first electrical issue I've had. I replaced the battery in November and it has run great the whole time I've owned it. After running it last weekend I went to start yesterday and the right turn signal blinks and the brake lights stay on but I can't get it to do anything else. I've disconnected the battery and checked the voltage and it's 13.2 volts so I don't think that's the issue. I can see my EHC lights come on so I'm not sure if there is anything else I should look for? Thanks for any help or suggestions. I've tried searching for the issue in the forums but haven't seen something with these symptoms.

First thing I'd try is disconnect the battery for 10 minutes and then reconnect and try again (resets controller)
Usually low voltage will flash right and left signals.
13.2 is high for a battery not being charge as a AGM or other lead acid battery should be 12.8 full charge.
What type of battery are you using?

It's an AGM part no. ETX20L. I purchased it in november 2020 so I can't imagine it's a bad battery. The chopper ran perfect last weekend. I disconnected for a few minutes and reattached and it did the same thing. Right side blinker blinks and tail/brake lights are on. No headlight or any lights showing on the instrument cluster except the right blinker signal.

I'll try disconnecting again for a longer time.

The Lights on the EHC are to help troubleshoot circuits with Faults. You have a lot of lights going on there. Read through this info on the electrical system for your bike it will explain what it's all about.

Have your battery tested to be sure it's not internally shorted. All bets are off if the battery is funky the Ehc will do all sorts of crazy shit.

Weird thing is the dam thing decided to fire up. I don't get it but I have a feeling the EHC will probably need to be replaced soon. My horn isn't working but everything else works fine now.

You might wanna go ahead and get yourself a new one. Have it on standby. You got a bunch of things going on...

I would be more inclined to believe you have a poor connection and its just a matter of pinning it down. Start by getting the battery tested. Be sure to take a picture of which wires are connected to each side. Then before you reinstall the battery check for a loose or dirty ground cable at the starter end. Pull the connections off the EHC . Clean, inspect and reapply dielectric grease. Check all wiring connected to the + and - side of the battery for chaffing. Reinstall all + wires first ( Positive side) then connect all - wires ( Negative ground side).
Clean and Tight is imperative. After you ride, check and re-tighten battery connections if needed. You may be inclined to skip these checks but with all your symptoms I think it will be worth while. Consider, if you buy a new EHC you have to do all of it anyway or you may damage the new one if your wiring is messed up.
Troubleshoot first then replace parts. The EHC will reset itself after you remove a fault condition (short, overload or open). Maybe you fixed something while checking the connections. Do the checks I suggested and if your horn is still not working check for a fault light and start shooting. Good Luck
By the way, if need be, you can have your EHC tested by WSW.

Horn could be as simple as relay is bad as well (or bad wire)
