I meet to do this thread many months ago but now that im doing this ultima lsd transmission swap again on another one of my bikes i wanted to let others know what they have to do to make it work and what other parts they need to order at the same time there ordering a Ultima lsd transmission for 04 bikes so they dont have to stop working on it and order more parts....THIS DOES APPLY TO JIMS OR BAKER transmission swap.....ONLY ULTIMA LSD TRANSMISSON SWAP that this applies....

Many 04 bikes have a 10.875" clutch pushrod that work with jims and baker trans....but when you do a ultima lsd swap you have to have a 11.375" clutch pushrod ...the shorter stock pushrod is too short...the longer pushrod stated above is a little to long but there is no in between lengths....it works fine being a little longer than needed but the problem i dont like about it is the threads on the clutch adjuster doesnt make full length in the aluminum clutch plate....thats just me being a little ocd when it comes bolts and nuts...it want hurt anything because the adjuster lock nut doesnt take much torque...

Also the other thing is the 5th and lonely stud on the bottom of the ULTIMA LSD TRANSMISSON close to the trap door has to be cut off....THIS ONLY APPLIES TO THE 04 RIDGEBACK MODELS AND 04 PITBULL MODELS because the oil tank is under the transmission....so all you have to do is cut it off before you install the transmission.....cut it off around a 1/4" below the bottom of the transmission and it will have plenty of clearance so when installing the oil tank back on the stud want hit the top of your oil tank....

Hope this helps someone in the future get back on the road faster

I wonder if you go to an aftermarket clutch like a Barnet, what the length needs to be?
I really dont know on that one Eric....Barnett may be able to say one way or another...but there is something different with the ultima that causes this....i havent studied to see what it is actually...but i had to do it on the mastiff and now on ole blue....good thing was i was already prepared for this and had one in stock

Ok i had to figure it out....plus i was having clutch adjustment issues with this ultima....come to find out just a few mintues ago i took it back apart and the trap door push rod/bearing end is shorter than the baker and jims pushrod/ bearing rod...so thats why the longer center push rod.... so now that problem is figured out...

On to another issue....Well for some reason i was running completely running out of clutch cable adjustment trying to make the finally adjustment after setting the clutch hub adjuster....i was like what the hell is going here...so i pulled it all back apart and i noticed that the ball and ramp in this trans seemed like it was slow making a full throw ....basically not enough dish in the cup for the balls to climb fast enough....so i pulled the baker trap door off that i just took off of ole blue and got my easy pull set up out of it....ball ramp moves fast, more dish in the cup pre say....i set them side beside and it was way different.....1/8 difference doesnt seem like much but thats the difference between 4 and 5 oclock....so now i have alot of clutch cable left....oh and im back with the 10.875" center pushrod because im back wth the easy pull set up which is the same length as the jims and baker stock set up

Ok i got to get back to work lol

Why did you cut the stud? It's threaded in there just remove the stud.

Haha...hey it works! Just figured I'd ask.

Yea those mounting studs are replaceable in the rare chance you'd ever need to. Be a rare thing that threads get all banged up but can happen. Or I guess if you ever find a transmission where some guy cut the studs off.. hahaha
