02 Bulldog Speedo Sensor

Thanks for the join. I recently purchased an 02 Bulldog and the speedo was not registering when moving. I pulled the sensor off trans and found the end of the sensor damaged, but doesn’t appear to touching the gear. I plan to replace the sensor and replace oil. Has anyone seen this sensor get damaged? Original owner says it has never been replaced, but stopped working a few years back.

Check with Baker. They should be able to tell you the clearance needed with the sensor as well as a replacement.

Drained trans oil and found what appear to be parts of the needle bearing. Trying to determine what options I have for 2002 Bulldog transmission. I think Barnes may be able to repair this one, but is there a new transmission out there that will fit?

I just saw your post on my profile...i havent been on here in several days....yes ultima left side drive transmission will fit it....and to your question if i like them and that would be a yes....i have 4400 miles on one of mine now and around 1900 on the other one...i have no complaints....as of last Wednesday some have been unloaded off of rail cars and sent to various distributors as i had received 2 to put on the shelf for all my bikes this past Saturday....you can find them on ebay as of right now but they wont last long because its been several months since any have been ship to the states...

I appreciate you getting back to me. I started tearing it down this evening. I can’t decide which way to go. I‘m thinking about putting in the Ultima and rebuilding the Baker depending on cost as a spare. Thanks again.
