SwingArm Bearings

I just got through replacing the swingarm bearings on my 2006 Mastiff. I referred to the manual, it was not much help it didn’t say which side to drive the bearing out of, it did say to use a 1 inch socket, which I did. One of bearings I removed was not fully seated in the swingarm but both the bearings rotated and moved like new bearings. I drove the old bearings out using the 1 inch socket from the inside out, these do not appear to be tapered bearings, I confirmed that with a dial caliper, so it probably doesn’t matter and the maintenance manual didn’t state one way or another. The new bearings moved in all axis prior to installing, once I got them installed it was tough to get them to move and they didn’t rotate. I was wondering if anybody else had the same issue and if they ran them like this anyway? You would still have the bearing surface and movement in other axis, although stiff. I’m not sure but if I would’ve pressed these these in I think the bearing would have rotated once installed. 76FCE9B6-8676-4456-B8DA-74CFC7D7285A.jpeg223BDEBF-6989-4167-A074-806F0F1703CA.jpegC65BBF95-19AF-4EF1-914A-95B94A8BEF42.jpeg96AE35CB-CECF-4186-9C64-1369E091AF29.jpeg

Thought I would include this photo which indicates which directions the bearing will move after installation. The blue indicates that the bearing does not easily rotate as it did before installation. I would think the only way the bearing would rotate now is if the bearing surfaces seized. 6C9E91CA-4F3B-4F66-A3FC-8EA3D783780B.jpeg

That is normal being little stiff once installed....i can see the you have the clips installed so that shows the bearing isnt cocked....as long as you hit on the outer race and not the pivot bearing you should be fine....like i said they will be a little stiff once installed
