3rd Gear slipping

Was riding on Saturday when all of a sudden 3rd gear seemed to slip when excelerating. All other gears seemed fine. Was wondering if anyone else has encountered this and if so what was the problem and how dificult was it to fix? Thanks!!

My guess is that if you got on the throttle heavy in higher gears it would slip as well. Could be time to consider new clutch discs but I would start by adjusting the clutch before making any decisions.

You sure it’s not 4th?

4-6 are helical cut gear and side load the main shaft. This will slightly unload the clutch.
Typically a sign bearings are bad and you have sideplay in main shaft.

Could be as simple as a shifter pawl adjustment?
