Best Way to Detach Cables from Carburetor

Having to do some work on my S & S Carb, and I cant remember how I detached the accelerator cables from the Carb. Any suggestions. Thanks in advance

Back off on the cable adjusters, and un-hook the cables from the carb.

There are pins that hold the cable to the throttle lever, do those pop out?

You have to rotate the cable to the groove area on the grip... the cable and brass ferrule will then come out

And you will drop the ferrule and it will roll to where you will search for it for 1 hour (at least that's usually what happens with me)

Loose ferrules can gain movement power when dropped and even worse, are known to become instantly invisible upon impact with any hard surface. It is said they will gravitate to any edge, crack or dark corner. One time I searched for several hours, finally bought one from a Honda mechanic, and two months later found the darn thing right under the lift. Always keep at least 5 or 6 in your toolbox because dropped ferrules will stay in your line of vision if extras are readily available.
So now I always put a towel on the surface below the handgrip.

I'm convinced those ferrules are instantly transported to a different dimension upon impact with a concrete floor. If that were not the case, I would have them all over my garage floor.

So with any custom bikes, there are certain things one needs to watch for when working on these special bikes as "one issue leads you to another". I purchased 5 extra ferrules to finish this very small project. I decided to try doing it without someone or something holding the handlebar throttle mechanism ( Throttle and break) and it slipped from where I had placed it and bottom and top fell and separated. In the separation caused the pin junction to separate. I reconnected the pins but noticed there is a wire coming from the start/run/blinker that seems to be deadheaded. (see picture 1) Also when I reconnected everything, the brake handle only returns 3/4 of the way once pulled. When everything was reattached when turning the key to run, It was like the the break lights were on, blinkers did not respond on either side run/start/off/blinker was not responding. The break lever is not fully returning to its position. This issue wasn't there before . So I am not sure what I have done Any help would be appreciate it

The wire is for your front break light switch.there is a small Allen screw that holds the switch in from the bottom. It can be done by yourself but much easier with two.
