Another round please
Well, if ya plug it, then it goes bad at 70 MPH on the hwy, it wont be good. If ya have the cash, I would feel more a peace that I know I am safe. Whats your life worth? Its your call.

I am not proud to admit this but I have two plugs in my rear tire. They are holding fine and I don't plan on changing the tire unless it's time. I can get another 2,000 miles out of it.

I too plugged my 300 tire. It was in the middle of the tire and a clean puncture (screw).
It never leaked but I ride over 100 mph too often to have kept the tire on the bike. I figure my life is worth more than the $250 it took to replace the tire. I saved some of my hair from falling out too. Worrying about a tire failure at high speeds.

I plugged my 330 tire right in the middle of tread and went several thousand miles with no problems.....
If it was the front I would not......rear plug that sucker

Plug it. Proven simple technology. I have a dirt bike(CRF 250) with more plugs than nobbies and never had a plug fail. F'N sharp stones in PA. Don't leave home without them.

I don’t know but if I ran over a Bail I think my rear tire would be the last thing I would be worried about!

Got a plug in my 250, ride the crap out of it, NO problems. I am NOT trashing a tire I can get another 3 thousand miles out of. By the way, I take it over a 100 mph, every chance I get...And, yes, I am an old fart...

Has ANY one had a plug fail after repair and what type of plug was it? Or have they all died after the failure at high speed 100+ never to heard from again? Bails can be so detrimental to tire life ...

I just had new tires put on my scooter before we went to do the Dragon. Then the blount county greeting guy stopped me and fully explained the speed limit laws on highway 129 without requiring my signature,:D.

They were the original tires, rear worn a little, front a few dry rotting places. Some people like plugs but the big question is, "will you feel safe at 80 miles an hour with a plug in a motorcycle tire"? I didn't feel good about being 200 miles from home with a rear tire that that was questionable. So they got changed out. I sleep better and ride much harder!

I put a new set on tires on my truck last year and got a screw on the middle of one of them about a month out. The guy at Discount tire said the plug/patch they installed would out last the tire. If I was going to plug a motorcycle tire that is what I would use for sure. If you don't think you would feel safe with any type of plug say with your kids/wife riding behind you with a plug in the tire... Don't even think about it,,, get a new tire!
