bail in tire

Has ANY one had a plug fail after repair and what type of plug was it? Or have they all died after the failure at high speed 100+ never to heard from again? Bails can be so detrimental to tire life ...
Azz fault might be more of an issue than bails at 100 plus... Bails and plugs might equal = azz fault... just in theory of course! Personally my azz is worth more than a $300 tire, and the scooter is as well.

Plugs are for lawn mower tires! In all of history has anyone ever crashed and burned when a plug failed in a riding lawn mower tire!

It is just my opinion, but if you are on a trip, I would plug the tire (I carry plugs) and if it had good tread left, I would patch it from the inside once I got home. I would remount and balance after a confident repair. Of course, sidewall damage would have to be a tire replacement. A flat tire can happen anytime with or without a plug.

I picked up a screw some how in my back tire earlier this summer. I plugged it, but I will change out the tire in the spring for sure. FYI, I'm much more of a cruiser and don't venture much above the speed limit. These bones are getting too old to gamble on.:D

I personally have never plugged a bike tire but ... IF I had I would be weary of it and not push my luck ...but it would be a option depending on where I was and where I was going ... IMO It would be safe to ride for a while ..even if it failed It would not do so violently and hopefully you would feel the loss of pressure ?

Your choice. I personally would plug it but not with a cheap walmart plug get one from a tire shop there better. But if your going to worry about it while riding put a new tire on it I fix tires for a living so I know what works and what doesn't I test what I sell.

Thank all for the input.....I just put the new tire on in april so there is plenty of tread i will have a plug put in, Ive been riding with the nail or screw in it for over a month cause its barely leaking. now I only get to ride every other week. but it is starting to worry me a bit having a puncture and beings i like to go fast i should probaly fix. had a great benefit ride for 9/11 yesterday. Dam over 600 miles on a hard tail makes for a sore ass

well there ya go, you drove around for a month with the nail in and it never came out. So a mushroom plug has got to be 1000 times better.
