If any former employee from BDM knows or has access to this information I think others on here would like to know how many of their particular bikes are out there.

If Sheldon Coleman really wanted to give all his loyal Big Dog Owners a parting gift before he shuts down the BDM website, he would post ALL his parts sources, ref numbers, House of Kolor paint codes, etc for our future use....IMO.

Good question Paul.

I've been wondering the same thing. I'm sure 2005 & 2006 were the biggest years and I believe some of the production figures may be located in the "Recall Section" (just haven't taken the time to look yet).

Hopefully someone from the factory will give us some input.

It's been discussed before. What we really need to create is a Service Manual Library. Not sure how to begin. These manuals will become very hard to find very quickly. Im sure they have these on disk somewhere to send PDF's for printing. An ebook for every year would make this site rock. May cost some bucks, but we may be able to pay for through supporting membership. A perk for those who support. Ebooks with attachments of member HOW TO video an pictures.

You could PM Bubblehead about that. That's a great idea. I suppose everyone is gonna wait to see how this parts business goes. If the manuals are not available I have a 09' all models manual I'd be willing to share with whoever needs it. "wink-wink"

The build number or "project" number is stamped on the left side steering head. It could be 1-3 letters, followed by 4-5 numbers. Anything 2002 or earlier only have numbers. The letters indicate the model. The first number indicates the year (unless it's pre-2000). The last 3 numbers indicate the build number. R5135 would indicate a 2005 Ridgeback, being the 135th built. YEB10058 would indicate a 2010 EFI K-9, being the 58th built. I no longer have access to how many of what models were built.

Already working on something like this, will see where I get with it and if I can get it expanded to service manuals.

That'd be cool. Service Manuals, Service Bulletins etc. For now I'd be happy knowing how many 09' Mastiffs there are running around.

My Bike is a 2001 Model and it is stamped with L1266, also found this number on the square loop for the seat tab... What does my number mean? I was told when I bought it that it was a Wolf, but the frame sticker said Husky. Confused:confused:

This should help you guys with your VIN number but still doesn't give us how many Models were manufactured in a certain year.

Hi guys, I just bought a BDM Mastiff 09 with a 120 × 21 and 300 × 18 tyres.
Could someone tell me the correct air pressure please?
Thanks in advance. Craig

40-40-40
40 for front
40 for rear
.40 for the spark plug gap.
I run 40 in front and 38 in rear a little more balanced feel.

I run 38 front and 34 in the rear on my 08 Mastiff. It's personal preference. With lower pressure in the rear I get a better contact patch thus better wear. :2cents:
