I need a new battery for my 2006 Mastiff. I searched and didn't find anything. What would be the best battery ? Has a brand new one 450cca and its not enough.

There's a million threads on batteries, just had one the other day.

Either way, general consensus is the Deka ETX20L, Amazon is the cheapest place to get it and it's usually not more than a month or two from manufacture date. I wouldn't buy batteries from a local store, just because who knows how many months or years it's been on the shelf.

CCA is so misrepresented by "off name" brands it is astonishing.
Get a real name Brand -- get a DEKA -- 310CCA
You can order online or get from a harley dealer.
Personally I've been using the Duracell from Batteries Plus for a couple of years with great results and great service

https://www.batteriesplus.com/battery/motorcycle/big-dog/mastiff/1750cc/2006#finder-box-top - Order online and there is a code to get $10 off.

If you also sign up for Rakuten, you can get another 3% off on the battery and a bunch of other places as well. https://www.ebates.com/r/BIGMIK880?eeid=28187
I've gotten about 25 back in the past year from them!

Yes just barley spins over.
Damn sorry to hear about that. Sounds like it might be something other than the battery. Your sure the compression release are working correctly? This would drain your new battery real fast if not.

I hace a 2006 Mastiff and have been using the TR- B1500 racing Battery, has 465 CC power and I have not had any issues. They are Pricey but they last a long time. I keep mine on a Battery Tender most of the time so it lasts about 5 Years and it s the right height, width and length Check it out

It is really expensive, but they start V8 engines with this:

The NEW Antigravity ATX-20-HD battery is a High Power, lightweight lithium replacement for the popular YTX-20 size Lead / Acid battery. This is HEAVY DUTY version, designed with significant Power and Amp-Hour Capacity in this popular case size.
  • Case Size: (L) 176 mm x (W) 88 mm x (H) 130 mm
  • 900 Cranking Amps
  • 30 Amp Hours (Pb Eq), 15 Ah Actual
  • Weight 2.315 g
  • Lighted Voltage Indicator to see state of charge (doesn’t have RE-START)

Got question ? Is it safe to use one of those lithium pocket sized jump start packs on a 04 Big Dog ? I saw a comment never jump start off a running vehicle. I have one rated up to non diesel V8.

Thanks,
Hope this is not to far off topic.

You can, but disconnect it quickly after it starts.

My shop uses the Deka battery ETX20L 310ca. You can get them off Amazon, or a Harley shop. We get 6 - 7 years out of them. We don't keep them on a trickle charger, but if the bike sits for a couple weeks, we will make sure it's charged before we ride. In the winter, we charge them once a month.

Just took this one out of the box that I ordered that took 3 weeks to get here with the postal delays. Why I recommend Amazon, they are the cheapest around ($100 shipped to your door) and they move more batteries than anyone. 12/20 manufacture date and 693.5 CA out of the box, usually I see it around 550-560 so I know this one is really fresh and the sticker isn't a lie.

I would say this is Cranking Amps NOT Cold Cranking Amps, because I didn't stick this battery in the freezer first. But I don't ride in a freezer either.

Must be a "Lightning Start" battery. I've had good & bad luck with these batteries. At first I thought Wow, 450 cca. I had on last on my 03 Pit Bull 107 S&S without compression releases for 5 years. Then I've had others ( I own 5 bikes) that barely made it a year (11 months). Although in that case it was replaced including shipping for free. I now have a Deka installed in one bike, and will replace all the others with Deka when they take a dump. Great batteries, and don't let the lower CCA scare you off, they have plenty of juice.
