Bike shuts off while crusing

I had ground wire coming from ecm broken right at battery connection, you had to move things around - if you just looked at it, it looked OK. ended up having to put new end on wire, easy fix once I found it.

Want to hear something funny. A few weeks ago I took off from a parking lot and bike just died! Turned out my leg bumped the key.

If that's the case and it very well could. We have a member who makes killer custom gas caps!

No riding weather so bored and just browsing through old posts. This one caught my attention since I have a "busted" gas cap. Bike will just die like its out of gas. Open the gas cap and fire it up again. Need a new gas cap i guess. Which member makes killer custom gas caps?

I'm next in line for a gas cap but since last year, not sure any are even being made anymore

did you ever sell the custom one that BBCHOPPER made. It looked pretty good

My 04 Bulldog is shutting down wile cruising down highway and will restart by switching key to off position and back to on position bike is started and lights on

dude, June 12th was the initial post and July 3rd he figured it out... post #18. My mental tool box holds some absolutes so my reality of the diagnose sounds something like this:
We know it starts back up so we can assume no failed parts. We use the 3 variable connector deal as I stated on the first page. We extract from the mental theory... 'Magnetism = You cannot separate heat from chemical reaction.' We now apply the chemRe at the pins not making contact, ie., metal on metal. We can now bring in the hindsight and say, the connector disconnect is dragging off the chemRe at the pins. The reconnect was having the pin contacts dragged on each other 'twice.' We can now see the pins having a clean surface back on each pin... Buddaboom-Buddabing.

Donny has not revisited his thread since then so we/I have to assume it kept on running and it wasn't some other ground/connect problem but rather; 'Pin ChemRe.' That's the only place he pulled a connector off and applied the antidote.
