So got clutch ball ramp etc back together test rode all good. No slipping shifted great but can not get neutral unless cut bike off. So reading on here that is the rod adjustment right?

Did you put new disc in? If the disc stack does not measure at least 1.96, you'll have a hard time adjusting it

Got clutch adjusted can get in neutral but no freeplay. I really appreciate all the info. Will just ride some to see how it does. Like i said thanks!
Free play insures that the clutch is fully engaged and won't slip. After you ride it for a bit you should consider re-adjusting so that you don't get premature wear.

If i put slack in cable cant get neutral moving or still and bike creeps when put in gear.
Do the alternate adj I suggested again but back the push rod out 1/8 instead of 1/4. You need the 1/16 free-play in the cable. The push rod adj is a "feels like adj" consider your "lightly seated" is different from someone else so it could change the outcome of the adjustment. Experiment with it and make your lightly feel a little firmer. Your rod may be slightly binding and giving you a false feel for the adjustment. Your looking for fully engaged and fully disengaged, the 1/16 is just as important as the push rod part of the adjustment.

There are lots post on clutch adjustment. You need to be able to find neutral. Just wanted to make sure clutch is fully engaged when lever is released. Normally there is a little play in the lever. About the amount of a dime before the cable starts to move.

I would say about half way released. With freeplay pretty much as soon as i start to release it moves or moves when i put it it gear
You are not engaging soon enough. The clutch should engage when the handle is approx 1 inch or maybe even less off fully compressed. Total throw of the lever is around 4 Inches so let's say 25% instead of 50% like you have it now. It is certainly a preference but at 50% you are loosing too much throw.

On adjusting the clutch, if the clutch grabs as soon as the lever is just released, should the push rod be adjusted out more or in more so it grabs half way at the lever?

What Shannon and John and everyone said is correct IMO, AS SOON as you feel a LITTLE tension on the rod, back off 1/8"....crank the rod down...then When I re-adjusting the lever, I put a DIME in between lever and contact point of hand control....

What ever it takes to remove some of the play in the lever, without the clutch slipping.

That’s the straight truth. Whatever it takes. I spent a week in the evening after work adjusting the clutch on my BDL T/F1000 to finally find the feel I was looking for at the lever & get neutral at any time. Can be frustrating if you haven’t done it much.
