Hi
I have an 07 Bigdog Bulldog and I just put in a Dakota Digital speedometer. Supposedly plug and play. Now my engine dies while riding. But starts right back up. No other electrical problems are evident. Has any one had this issue? Thanks for any feedback brothers!!

As the Dakota was the last thing you did, revisit it. Its possible you didnt make a total connection and now you have a gremlin. I would pull it back out and start over. Thats just my thoughts tho. Im sure someone will have a better idea. Ck the connections @ your key switch too.

Thanks. Going to pull it and check connections. Thanks
If you don't see anything obvious, put your old speedo back in to see if the problem goes away. How long did it take after you installed the Dakota for your bike to start failing? It is possible that it's just a coincidence which is why I suggested putting the old speedo back in for a test.
If it turns out the Dakota is good the next likely culprit for an intermittent engine shutting off is the crank sensor. Very difficult to troubleshoot because they usually only fail when they get hot. The most reliable way to troubleshoot it is to replace it with a known good sensor. Unfortunately, that means you will probably need to buy one. Good news is they are not too expensive and if it turns out not to fix your issue you can keep it as a backup.

If it continues to fail after you check and re-seat the Dakota speedo, swap in the old one to help verify the failure is not just a bad coincidence.
