You can call me, and I'll try to help. Message me for my phone #.
really appreciate that John.
From the quick test I did today compared to last night when I parked it, it looks to me as I have a heat related component failure. So I'm goping to review what I did and maybe even swap back some parts that were not "failing" apparently (did some preventative things given age - new coil, new wires etc).
Last night front cylinder was not firing as well as it should have -- exhaust not as hot and not as forceful as rear.
Startup today and it was, still a little troublesome, acting like a low idle.

I'll tear into it later.

I recommend and do on any BIG DOG heads to:
Block off the vacuum from the small fitting on the front head to the intake manifold.
Vent the rear head with the black and white 1 way valve to the street. (Remove from back of air cleaner).
Remove 1 of the taper plugs from the back of the CASE ( there are 2. 1 is at 90 degrees, the other is at 45 degrees) your choice as which one you want to remove.
Install a hose barb in the 1 you removed the plug from. Install a piece of hose and a 1 way valve on the barb, and vent to the street.
This will solve your oil problem.
S&S 1 way valve part # 50-8122 check valve.

I know this is old but just got a 2000 bulldog. Mine has the loop from front head to rear then down for the breather, i ordered a pair of check valves so I can do the hose from there down and then from the rear of the case also. Does it matter where or how close the check valve is to the engine? I will be running a k&n type air filter in my teardrop air cleaner too.

As long as you're using a stock air cleaner, or one that is utilizing the vents through the heads, you can plug off that vent hole in the back of the crankcase. This came directly from an s&s tech. I did this on my 03 and my 04, and I have had no problems. I still get a little oil through my hair cleaner, but not much.

Didn't realize you used that greasy kid stuff -- didn't think you were old enough for it (Brylcreem)
