First 500 miles .. then what!

So much for false hopes!

Coming back from the Dog Pound after the 500 mile service rattles started developing oh *@@&!#$ another dealer gone bad and screw up something. Come to find out the wrench broke the bracket that holds the heat shield - I am not feeling too comfortable now ... guess I need the service manual now! funny thing on my way to get a new heat shield a fellow biker tagged along heading to see the same wrench who forgot to tighen the lock nut on his clutch! that was it for me ... time to find a new dog dealer. dammm..

Bradman how do you like the mean mother pipes? I am leaning towards them as they are not quite as loud as the big radius pipes and I haven't seen the V&H 2-into-1 that looks interesting -- gotta keep the neighbors happy!

Love them. They are kind of loud though, definitly nor quiet. Sets off the car alarms in the hood. I may go to the RB racing 2 into 1 to get the most power out of my motor. They dont look to bad, but my motor man says i am not getting all my power with these pipes. Thats a winter project early next year.

Thanks Bradman, let me know what you find ... I need a decent set of pipes that are reasonably quiet for the neighbors who happen to carry a gun and badge.

I ride with a buddy who has Mean Mothers, while I have V&H Big Radius pipes - his certainly seem much louder than mine. In both cases, you can keep the noise level lower just by easing on the throttle - but neither gives you that quiet "sewing machine" sound of the stock pipes.
