Bring It!
well finally installed starter into bike, had to get it from guy on ebay for $100. Just like raywood said youo can't used harley starter. When I called John sach he also told me that. So starter came in on friday and after 1/2 hour the old cracked one was out and the new one was in. did it start? FUCK NO!
Starter would spin but wouldn't engage. I thought the ring gear teeth were gone so I turned the motor over some to try that and no dice. So back out the starter came and I pulled it appart and found that who ever rebuilt it didn't install the washer an spring the correctly behind the bendix so it wasn't pushing the bendix out. I reinstalled the washer first then the spring, bendix spacer and clip, reinstalled and music to my ears. Now off to the hardrock carshow.
