hardtail tire pressure?

Again, Avon will tell you, if you call them, that they recommend no lower pressure than 26 psi. for a single rider. Do not run below that! I ran 30 psi when my wife had her own bike. Now that she is riding passenger I bumped it up to 34 psi. That is with almost 300 lbs between the two of use on there. The ride is twice as good with 34 psi versus the 40 psi. That 5 lbs makes a BIG difference in ride quality.

I've been experimenting a bit, and the difference between 26 and 30 is negligible IMO, so I'm keeping at 30 for now just to be in the safe side.

You ride your tire below 30 psi and the steel belt will start to bulge out on the tire. Riding below 40 psi on a wide ass is very dangerous and it won't be long before we're all sending you get well cards in the hospital! Or worse flowers to the funural home.

i agree,i run mine at 38 and it rides fine,1st set of tires i got 12k out of them and they werent down to the wear bars yet.i guarantee lower tire pressure is more dangerous.when you hit a hard bump or pothole with a lower pressure tire it will deform and get out of shape a lot worse than a tire that is firmer with more air pressure.
