I would contact a service center or even BDM and find out if they use a monitoring voltage.

If I get a chance I'll go take mine apart and see what it reads...

I wonder if your getting back fed throught the negative wire.
check the hot wire directly to the batery negative.
see if you get any voltage
then check the negative wire to the batt negative and see what you get obviously you shouldnt get any voltage there.
if you do there is a short somewhere.

well I found I have 9.9v comming out of my ehc!!! SHIT!!!
