ignition key immediately start

I have a problem with a Mastiff 2007. When the ignition key is turned to ON, the starter immediately begins to crank.

I have checked the start button, and it is working. The two wires from the start button (black and green) are not shorted. The solenoid is functioning properly.

If I disconnect the wire from the control terminal on the solenoid and touch it to start, it works fine.

I am looking for the cause of the problem. Could the ECU be faulty? Lights, blue LED, indicators, etc., are all working.

Thanks for your support.
Dave.

Maybe the splined shaft is stuck to the flywheel? Remove the cover to install a starter button to the motor. That cover. See if the shaft is stuck forward. That's the physical (stuck) move minus E thrown at it.

To see if the magnetic field is produced, unhook the cable off the motor. Should arc with key off. No, that would mean phantom battery draw. OP makes no mention of the battery.

Say with key on, a fast tap and see if it sparks? This would show something is engaged between battery and motor.

ECU would code something in the loop is the guess. No codes triggered, not the ECU. But then again, if you had access to an ECU, plug it in and see if it starts normally, then yes.

Could be the ignition switch itself. It could be malfunctioning leading to unintended power delivery to the starter motor. Hope you figure it out

Hi everyone, I’ve made some progress. The control unit (EHC58) was defective. I got a new one fairly quickly from Axel Joost Elektronik—great service!

Now I’m facing a new issue: the bike won’t start. The handlebar buttons seem to work. I checked the wiring from the handlebar to the EHC58—continuity is good (0 ohms) on all six wires. Right indicator works, but the engine ON/OFF and RUN button don’t seem to function. The RUN button does nothing at all.

I still need to check the circuit board behind the START and ON/OFF buttons in case that’s the issue.

QUESTION:
What conditions must be met for the EHC58 to allow starting?

I don’t have a sidestand switch installed.
Do you have any tips on what else I can test or measure?

Thanks!
Dave

Recheck all connections made with new EHC. Wires can be easy to miss. Double ck ground connection. Pull plug connector and check that all pins on EHC are straight. Starting procedure is to turn on key, depress the run button(speedo will sweep) then press the start button.

okay, i've checked all Pins an Cable. All Cable look perfekt. I've disconnect all of them (1by1) prepare mit contact spray and reconnect again. The main pinout and the connector directly on the ehc58 are fine too.

But i'm not sure about PINout A19, thats the 12+ from the EHC to the ignition module 12+. There is no 12+ on the EHC side (female plug) ... and the ignition module, the little aluminium block with the three LEDs, dosn't seems to be getting 12+... so the LEDs are not lighting up.

Im not sure about the ditaild funktion of the EHC, i will contact Axel Joost again.

nice sunday, here its sunny today.

... by depress the run button, press start button : nothing happens, as if the button doesn't work.

Now the engine starts and runs. The following issues were the cause:
First, the control unit EHC58 was defective.
Second (just a suspicion, not yet confirmed), the Engine ON/OFF function doesn’t work.
I had to change the setting in the control unit (EHC) so that the engine starts immediately after turning the key to ON and the "Start" Button.
That works — the US setting with the additional Engine ON/OFF doesn’t work.
Luckily, it was just the EHC and nothing more.
Thanks for your help and ideas!
