Great looking bike Mick! I will be stocked to just know what color the lights on mine are, lol! Didn't take the battery box out yet, but I'm sure whatever I'm looking for is under the battery bracket...at least I'm guessing so, lol....heck, it can't really be anywhere else...can you post a pic of the main brain for the LEDs...so I have some idea what this thing might look like?
There really isn't a whole lot to them. Below is the installation kit. Below the red and black wire you see an on/off button. That is probably what you need to look for. Depending on the installer, it could be tucked in a very obscure place. Since the customer went with a remote control, we didn't even install the button.

The 2 small boxes (terminal) with the orange tabs are where all of the wires feed to. You locate a central point to stick these. One terminal gets the colored wires, the other gets the black wires.

Below is the remote control box. It has 5 wires and is the size of a small pager (PAGER ... a comminication device used in the 80's-90's as a way to alert the holder of said device that someone wants you to contact them. Said device could be set to make an audiable beeping noise or be set on silent mode for which the device would not make any noise but would vibrate instead). One wire to each of the terminals and one wire to each of the battery terminals. The extra wire is an antenna that does not attach to anything.

No brain, just a box.

With that said, an earlier post gave warning to be careful that these "chicken lights" would burn up the Big Dog EHC's in certain model years. I am unaware of how other LED kits are installed, but I am having a tough time understanding how these "chicken lights" that hook up directly to the battery and not the EHC or any other module of the bike would create any problems other than a battery draw.

Not saying that I am right or wrong. I am just saying that I don't understand and I am always willing to learn.

Bigtrav, I hope these pics help you locate your wiring central point for the LED's.

bigtrav6442,
Just for chits and giggles, feel up and around the bottom of your side panels under your seat for any type of micro switch that may operate the LED lights.
If they are operated by a remote, who the "F" would want to carry around the remote in there pocket, and why? :loony:

And "if" the added LED lights are powered through the EHC, I'd change that immediately!
In knowing all of the eccentric operational characteristics of the EHCs, I wouldn't EVER suggest that any electrical add-on be powered through the EHCs, not even LEDs!!! :nono:

Any battery strength fluctuation during the life of the battery could be just enough with the additional minuet load of the LED accent lights being powered through the EHC circuits to cause a major problem or a complete failure of the EHC! Poof! It's Gone!

If you want to run them, then I'd suggest that you upgrade the battery to the Braille Battery, continue to use a battery tender, and wire them, fused, directly into the battery and have a hidden switch. :2thumbs:
And "if" you are concerned with someones ability to walk by the bike and turn them on just for fun with the key out or without your permission, then just change the BDM key switch out with a higher current H-D style switch like the one used for the WP systems and wire in a small relay to power the additional LEDs, that can only be energized when the key is in the on position! Easy & Safe! :2thumbs:

That's my two bits on the subject! :2thumbs:

dead

I looked this thing over like crazy...even went as far as crawling under with a flashlight and using a mirror to look in and under everything as well. I would love to find this switch...it is absolutely driving me crazy not knowing if there is even a switch on it, lol. I'm off this weekend and going to look it over once again.

the switch installed from big dog is in the middle of the oil tank on the bottom on my bike
Aftermarket lights are installed at a dealer not at factory. The on/off button is at the customers and or mechanic suggestion. All new aftermarket lights here we install are remote control operated. Not a switch. If you have a large 1 ½ by 2” black box under your seat area that is not recognized by anyone it’s probably the remote controlled box. You can purchase another control box to operate the lights. If you can’t locate this box, follow the wires to what connects all the lights together and that should be your control box. Hope this helps.
