Hey dude, there is a brown o-ring just outside of the bearing. On some bikes they added a shim between the o-ring and bearing. there were issues with the hardness of this shim...some nuts came loose.
If you remove the o-ring with a pick, you should be able to see the radius on the ID of the bearing where it rides on the shaft. If you can't see the bearing, it probably has the shim. Pop the seal and check for a damaged shim. That, a seal and an o-ring might just fix you up. It takes special fixtures to even pull out the gearset on those "balanced drive" trannies.
