Ok, I read thur this thread two times and still don't see when the plugs were replaced? I have had fouled plugs before due to starting after sitting for some time and even after cleaning plugs with carb cleaner and soft wire brush they still did not fire good, replaced plugs and no problems.

Plugs are cheap, you can even take a plug out of your car or any other motor and plug them into plug wire hold against head and watch for spark, ignition system don't care what part number plug is in wire.

Good luck.
I will try this.

Thanks to everyone for the help. I will let you know what I figure out.

Problem that I had with my 08 Pitbull was the battery. Got bike new off show room floor last week of Oct. Batt. on tender all winter and still had problems a few weeks ago. Load test your battery, should be getting something like 13.2 or so. Or bikes take alot to volts to turn over.

First let me start by saying how grateful I am for everyone's help on this. I learned more on this thread than I did in the first 3 years I had the bike. You guys are awesome.

Second, based on the information in this thread and talking to Tim at Gateway Big Dog, I pulled the plugs again and hit them pretty hard with a wire brush. I am now getting a spark. It is not like I think it should be, so I am picking up a new set of plug tomorrow. Will a auto supply store have them?

Thanks again for all the help.

Sure, they are standard Champions. Part # is in your owners manual. I use a different brand and don't remember the number off the top of my head.

They were changed from 04 to 05 so make sure you know which year bike you have!!!!! :whoop:  :whoop:

SWEET!

I always carry an extra set in my bag, they're pretty cheap anyways.

Glad you got her running!

Yep...makes you wonder - after all that it turns out to be two silly little plugs.
Just glad it worked out and you are up and running - don't you love this site?

I would have bet against it just being the plugs. I almost loaded it on the trailer and took the 2 hour ride to the dealer. That would have been bad.

So yes. This site rocks. :2thumbs:

I always tell people to put new plugs in it before doing anything else. If it turns out to not be the plugs, you are only out a couple of dollars (not really - just keep them until you need them) and about 5 minutes of time swapping them out. It is amazing how many times it turns out to be the plugs.
