Not sure about big dog, but my aih has a one on the rear fender to protect the bike. Once it trips it cuts everything. Supposed to be able to reset it by removing power for a min. Or just replace it. You can get them cheap at parts place.

Ray what do mean by "tripped the circuit breaker"

My names not Ray but, there is a 40A circuit breaker on the electrical system. On the 07 K9 it is on the left side of the battery cage. Looks like a little black plastic square with a round plastic plunger. If the breaker is tripped the plunger will be sticking out. You push the plunger back in until it clicks and locks in then it has been reset. Just like a circuit breaker in your house it is there to protect your system from over amperage.
