be sure to take the restrictor plates out when you do that but you will probably need spacers to take their place - the mods you suggest should make a decent improvement

are you saying you have 500 miles on the bike and you are hitting the rev limiter in races?? the thing isn't even broken in at 500 miles

no i didnt even ride the bike yet what i ment was my friends bigdog and lsc ironhorse do what i was stating when raceing there bikes cut out. i bought the bike from a guy for 16000 with 500 miles on it , it still has the reflecters on it..but i will be taking it apart to make this upgrades as soon as it gets in the garage.. thanks jim

hi guys was wondering what i can do to my 05 ridgeback to stop it from hitting the rev limiter and shutting off, is there anyway to turn it up or by pass it? everytime i go to get on it i hit it and the bike shuts down, really sucks when your racing someone.. also is this motor just as good as a 113 elbruto or s&s motor? should this bike keep up with a custom built bike with a 113 motor,without all the epa crap in it? thanks
Re read your first paragraph. You claim yours is shutting down. Why come to us with problems that don't exist?:down:

#1. if you switch from an "E" carb to a "G" carb, you will need a different intake manifold.
#2. The spacers to compensate for the removal of the restrictor plates are available from Big Dog...although if you are swapping carbs and intakes, I am not sure you will neeed the spacers.

#3. you can keep the "E" carb and send it to XXX and have them mod it...this will make it almost a "G", but will also add the boost circuit...your low end response will be better and you will have a much more "streetable" bike with good usable power...This is a good combination, and you wont need a new intake, just the spacers. Unless of course you just want to drag race all the time, which is not what these bikes were made for anyway.

its my friends bike ,i am picking mine up this week,and im trying to get info ahead of time to solve this problem once i pick the bike up,i wrote my complaint out this way cause it was easier then going into the whole my friends bike story,and when i rode there bikes ,etc. etc. jeez does it matter? for real? its not about anything ,besides what the bikes are doing cutting out ,right? sorry to get a few of you upset or confused,as you put it..
