problem after problem

Energy One
Alright, going to be down awhile, got the WP in today thought I would hold off but decided to pull the trigger. I know bad Idea with the bike being down but figured might as well. I know the ECM was not the issue but give a diver bullets and he is going to shoot. I know it was not the ECM and if you really want to know how I know PM me and I will tell you how I Know it was a bonehead mistake but I am installing the WP and it so far is smooth sailing. This is my intention install the WP, New Cam Sensor is on the way. Need to look at the thunderheart ignition, Check the coil and go from there. I am getting Medevil on this bike I refuse to take it to a shop, I know I can do this... if anything I will take it to a shop after she fires just to check the timing. THanks Bros suck I am missing out on a great poker run this weekend. More to follow suggestions welcome even from a Smart Azz!!!

What timing are you referring to? There's no chain to slip and no distributor to adjust. I thought that once the cam was lined up with the marks on the pinion gear and breather gear, that you have it properly timed. Is there more to it than that?

Hi BadBrad,

You're right but he's changing the cam sensor plate which is adjustable to tell the coil when to fire the plugs. The timing he's refering to is now to sync the plug firing timing with the optimum mechanical timing. X degress before or after Top Dead Center.

Dead, okay I airing my bonehead mistake. I know better but while doing some troubleshooting things were loose battery was connected the ignition box touched the + of the battery and the ehc now lights up light a bad ehc should. So the wire plus is going in regardless of any other problem. I know it has been said a million times but disconnect the battery before moving anything around... DUH... I should say don't do what I did...

Okay, update bike is running... WP installed , new cam sensor. I had to swallow my pride and have a shop do it, just don't have the time with a transfer around the corner. but the bike cut out on me on the way home from the shop. tried to start it and it back fired, tried a few more times and it started made it home. Could this be an issue with the jetting?? I changed the air filter to a DM and it has a hiccup on acceleration. But would the jets cause the bike to just stall?

did you rejet after the new air filter.. if not that might be the reason.. I sugest running your bike on a dyno with a exhaust gas anilizer.. to get it set up right...

Eric, No I did not jet after the air filter install. I am going to check with a shop tomorrow about the jetting and Dyno. Hopefully this is the reason for the stall. Take care
