Oh interesting. How many miles on the bike?

Do you know what recommended spring/damper replacement mileage is?

I remember someone went with a progressive spring before and liked the ride better.

Mine only has 10,500 miles so I'm sure they didn't need to be done and have no idea what the recomended mileage would be. It does ride nicer though, but having leaky seals before and old gunk ed up oil which wasn't at the 10 ozs. each I'm sure makes a difference.

I just changed my oil at 15K and it was nasty, I will change the oil from now on with every front tire change, which is around 8K, but I thought it was 11 oz in each one, I did flush it though with more oil before adding the new. But then again mine were not leaking either.

I heard 10 oz. in each but could be wrong. Taking mine apart made it easy to clean and there was a ton of gunk sitting in the lower leg and I'm sure just flushing it with some clean oil would not have gotten it out. I agree, frequent oil changes would keep it from getting gunked up.

Before I drained the oil, I marked a 1/4" dowel rod to check the oil depth from the top on both and them, and then checked them after the 11oz:old2: but whats an oz.
When I flushed it, I used thinner oil and I put the screws in the bottom and worked the shocks to swish it around, but I'm sure they are not as clean as a tear down.:old2:

I just changed the fork oil in my 0 K9 and I used the SEVN method. After dumping the oil I sprayed brake cleaner in each shock and worked it up and down until clean. I blew it out with compressed air until nothing showed on the rag laid at the bottom then put the screw in and dumped about 5 0unces of fork oil in each and worked it up and down. This oil was clean when I dumped it so I put the new washers on the bolts and tightened them up and dumped 10 oz. of oil in each fork, worked it up and down a little then buttoned it up and took it for a test ride. All is well.

I went back and looked and it is 10oz, my bad, had I posted the top of the page that I posted for the cap torque it would have showed. I don't know why I had 11 in my mind but that's what put the level at what was in mine:old2:
