Shinko tire purchase

10 mm isn't much, that will be 5 mm per side. I usually run a 240, and tell everyone it's a 250. They don't know any different.
I'm runni9ng a Shinko on the front now, and it's wearing good. My last rear was a Shinko, they are soft and hold the road good, but when I went to BB&BBQ, it was about half gone, and the 6 hours I spent on interstate on the way home, it wore it flat in the center.[/QUOTE

When I got home, I found that my rear Avon has worn flat on the center also. I'll have to go with the 240 Shinko then and see how that will hold up.

Taking the K9 into Barnes performance on the 27th to get new tires and bearings , currently it has the original venoms on it in great shape but would feel better getting 11 year old tires replaced, Andrew highly recommended the shinkos again, apparently the avons and metzlers show dry rot within 2 years
Im replacing my rear maybe I’ll try shinkos

Did he quote you a price? The guy I bought my K9 from used him.

Yea he gave me the price I paid for the tires already so he can order them in, he did some work on my pitbull last year he definitely knows his stuff
That’s what I’ve heard plus he has all the equipment being he’s a custom shop. I just wondered if he was reasonable on the tire price and installation.

My last rear tire was a shinko and it got less mileage than my avons and metzlers.

But maybe that's because almost ALL my riding now is 2-up vs mostly 1-up years past.

Put a Metz on again this time, so we'll see what happens.

Also have bluetooth tpm's on the way to make monitoring tire pressure easier.

You have any info on the TPM?
You really need to change your valve stems to a metal steam and ditch the rubber valve stems before you end up in the ditch.

"My issue is not with the performance of this product but rather its safety when installed on a rubber valve stem. The manufacturer continues to endorse the use of the TireGard external pressure monitors on rubber valve stems. Do so at the risk of serious injury or death. Rubber valve stems cannot withstand the centrifugal and other forces of this "weight" added to the end of the valve stem and can fail. Fortunately for me, I was able to control the motorcycle and avoid a potentially serious crash. If you have purchased these and have installed them on a rubber valve stem, remove them immediately until you can fit the wheel with a metal valve stem. If you notice bending of the valve stem you are one step away from ultimate failure. Replace with metal valve stems immediately!"

Thank you.

but those are ugly lol. I was thinking of internal style like most vehicles have these days.

You would also likely need to re balance for those.

Unsure where to get them, or if they work for us, but found orange-electronics.com made an internal tire system.

Got a friend that runs them on his star warrior. They hook like a mother. But they don’t last long. May be becuase his tire skidding and burn outs tho. Who knows:rolleyes:
