 Harley dealership just offerd me $10,000 for a 2008 Ridgeback w/2000 miles on it for a trade on a Street Glide. I know the market sucks but thats a kick in the ass.

As bad as the economy still is, Harley dealers around here are 'arrogant' as well and in denial about the market conditions. I wouldn't take that big of a hit on your Ridgeback unless I needed to for survival (ie- puttin' food on the table).:nonod: ..just my :zz2cents:

They are having a hard time sellin their own bikes. Wondering how much they are taking it in the A$$ for that deal they made a year ago about buying a Sportee and ride it for a year and get the same price you paid for it off on a New Harley.

Yep, I'd ask'em if he wanted some dick butter on that bread. He knows he'll make some fast money if he gets his hands on your ridgeback. May even keep it for himself.....when he's not around his co-workers. :job:

I knew it was going to be a low ball but that is bullshit. I checked for the hell of it. I am going to keep the Big Dog and maybe buy another Street Glide. I sold my 06 Glide last year cause i wasnt using it now i have the urge to do some long trips again. Your right they want MSRP for the Harley. :loony: Talk about arrognt

Good buddy of mine is a salesman at the local Harley dealer. We're always joking around about what they would give me. He just flat out tells people with customs that it will be a low ball and they are better off selling it themself. Financing is hard to get and that's one of the driving forces.

Welcome to 2010..........that's the reality of it these days. The factory customs aren't worth a shit for trade-in, and your going to have to take a helluva loss to sell in outright. To many folks parting with low-mileage scooters nowdays.

Here in westcentral OHIO, the Street Glides are selling like Hotcakes. When a bikes HOT and they know you want one, you might as well bend over and lube-up.

My buds looking at trading his '06 Heritage Softail Custom in for an '10 SG. THey offered him $13,500 trade-in. He's got well over $22g invested. Still a huge loss, but nothing like you lose on a BD, AIH, ect.

I LOVE my 08' Ridgeback,I would have to be on my death bed to trade her in for a HD. And she could sit there and rust to the ground before I would just "give"($10000???) it to some dealership to make a profit off of it.

Dude, screw that dealership. Sell it yourself, or sell it to me and I'll sell it and make a few thousand bucks in about a week.

Hey DeadOne,
the used bike market was "way low" before Obama came into office...so get a grip, the market didn't just take a $hit just a year ago :bang:
I wouldn't think of trading either my 02 Fatboy or 07 StreetGlide for penney's on a dollar to the dealer for what they are offering.
Sell the bike yourself then with the money buy what you want.
Still looking for a good K9 as we speak.

I dont plan on selling but the dealer asked if i had a trade so i figured what the heck give me an offer. I wasnt expecting that shit. I guess thats why they are the largest Harley Dealer! I guess ill just buy local as i was price shopping.
