When i look down into the tank there is no tube at all and looks like there never was. Did they eliminate the tube on the later models(2008 K-9), or is my laying in the bottom of the tank back towards the seat

Some here have said their tank doesn't have one. I thought they all did but there you go. It's for the Kalifornia models that has to vent to the charcoal canister. If you have one then you would see the hole where it was once soldered.

When you remove the gas cap you will see a tube just at the bottom of fuel hose stop. Small 1/4" tube. Tap it with your finger. If it moves thats your problem. Quick fix. JB weld. Just around the top of the tube, not inside. Let it dry for 24hrs before you ride again.

Do you have to drain the tank and leave the cap off, or can you apply the JB weld screw the cap on and leave it for 24 hours?

Had same problem

I had the same problem mine was the tank close out plates on the bottom of the tank bolt came loose, when it happens reach under and apply pressure to the plate on the bottom to see if it stops, hope it helps.. Mike
